Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Advisor and Academic Services Coordinator is to advise prospective and current students; recruit new students; process correspondence and course registration; oversee admission decisions and processes; manage graduation requirements for all students; and to grow and maintain the program site in a sound and sustainable way. Primary duties include, but are not limited to: advising graduate domestic and international students throughout their program until graduation, making admissions decisions, handling all graduation checks, recruiting new students, maximizing session enrollment, ensuring smooth operation of the site office as a full-service student interface, supporting applicants, and communicating with staff and faculty to assist with student success.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.


Qualifications:

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in public administration, business administration, education administration, or a related field

  • At least three years of relevant experience in education administration, business administration or a related setting

 

Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education setting as a student advisor or in a position with knowledge of university systems

  • Experience working with international students


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the work-related subject area, computers, and Microsoft Office software applications

  • Ability to prepare, present, and review oral and written information and reports

  • Ability to research and analyze related work program information

  • Ability to develop, recommend, interpret and apply policies and procedures

  • Ability to communicate with staff, faculty, and students


Additional Information:

 

This position is renewable annually based on continued need for the position, availability of funding, and satisfactory job performance.

Salary Information:


$40,000 - $45,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
