Arconic is currently in search of Maintenance Electrical Technician (E-Tech) to join our BCS Team in Springdale, Arkansas.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Troubleshoot, repair and contribute improvements to all in-house industrial controls, programmable controllers, etc., and performs preventative maintenance functions to such equipment;
  • Assume back-up role of Company electrician, when needed, in building and grounds department.Perform preventative, proactive, and if required reactive maintenance;
  • Perform new PLC programming for small projects (10%). Troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical systems including PLC's with the use of electrical prints and ladder logic programs. (90%);
  • Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry and components and record effects on unit performance;
  • Help implement, drive and lead Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities. Create, document and lead preventative maintenance activities. Knowledge of preventative and predictive maintenance procedures especially for CNC equipment and other process-controlled equipment. This includes maintenance visual control, 5S, documentation control, one-point lessons, and other TPM activities;
  • Assist in writing operational manuals and procedures relating to the operation and maintaining of Company equipment electronically, electrically, or electro-mechanical pneumatically;
  • Communicate with customer and sales to develop job strategy/product application;
  • Maintain and repair CNC equipment, monitor newly installed equipment, and train other workers in the operation of equipment;
  • Must be flexible and willing to come back to the plant on days off in cases of maintenance emergencies.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic prints in a swift and effective manner;
  • Ability to perform controls wiring projects and draw circuit prints;
  • Ability to learn CNC fundamentals, operating CNC machines as required for maintenance and troubleshooting (G-codes, offset, home, cycle start, etc.). Knowledge of CNC mechanical operations and performance, electrical systems controls, power supplies, sensors including proximity sensors and photo eyes;
  • Knowledge of Siemens and Allen Bradley PLC's and drives including A/C and D/C among others, servos.
  • Knowledge of servo drives for controls systems;
  • Knowledge of electrical circuitry with the ability to troubleshoot failed cards and system components;
  • Ability to learn and assist with machine alignment and calibration (laser interferometer, spindle analyzer, ball-bar, machine leveling, vibration analyzer, servo error and mechanical alignment.

Experience needed:

  • Two-year associate degree or a completed journeyman program in related field preferred;
  • CNC experience; programming experience preferred. PLC controls experience preferred.

Skill set must include:

  • Microsoft Office Suite skills;
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to verbally communicate effectively with internal and external customers;
  • Conflict Management Skills;
  • Ability to maintain awareness of the maintenance budget and if we are over or under budget in general;
  • Ability to work safely and follow all the EHS requirements.
