Job Description

The E&I Technician will perform Electrical and Instrumentation Maintenance tasks in support of production and non-production units.

The individual will participate in safety tailgates, follow Albemarle safety work rules and procedures, perform JSA's, maintain safety awareness, and SCAN (Survey, Consider, Act, Notify), and NFPA 70 E guidelines, and NEC guidelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain and repair instruments, electrical and pneumatic equipment and instrumentation,
  • and refrigeration systems. This includes, instrumentation, analyzers, On/off valves, control valves, motors, motor controls, motor switch gear, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD's), Soft-starts, Lighting, Lighting controls, Transformers, Capacitor banks, High voltage switchgear, High voltage cutouts, Signal multiplexing systems, (Dupline systems), Boiler / Burner flame management systems, UPS systems, video camera systems, security gate systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems related to E&I systems.
  • Perform weekly/monthly PM items for process safety, ISO , and Environmental, critical instruments.
  • Complete work orders by priority. Manage time keeping for each work order and report time per work order via SAP system.
  • Purchase repair materials through SRM.
  • Be available for callout to assist production shift teams and/or unit-assigned E&I technician in
  • Trouble-shooting and maintaining E&I systems/equipment.
  • Support project implementation by commenting on instrument specifications, drawings, assist in installations, calibrations, loop checking, and supporting startups.
  • Assist to maintain E&I drawing systems by marking as-built any changes made or noted in the field installation that is not reflected by current drawings.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Posession of a Technical related Associate degree, i.e. Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Refrigeration, etc.
  • In addition to a degree, 3 years of field experience in Electrical and Instrumentation or equivalent
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, or shift schedule and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis
