https://success.uark.edu/Summary of Job Duties:Supplemental Instruction (SI) Leaders in the Student Success Center support student learning by attending a targeted class, planning and facilitating out-of-class small group sessions covering the course content, and by assisting students in developing transferrable learning and study skills. SI Leaders will build professional relationships with faculty, students and other SI and Student Success Center staff and assist with SI Program implementation.

Responsibilities and Requirements:
* Participate in all mandatory training events - new hire training, weekly team meetings
* Attend each class meeting for targeted class
* Facilitate sessions while integrating content and learning skills
* Use collaborative learning techniques in sessions
* Model successful student behavior
* Collect data (attendance and/or scores) for program evaluation
* Complete all mandatory SI Program Blackboard Tasks
* Conduct course review sessions, as requested by faculty or program, paid at an hourly rateQualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled student with completion of twelve credit hours at the University of Arkansas Fayettevilleprior to job start

  • Demonstrated success with grade of A for course in which leader is assigned to lead

  • Cumulative minimum GPA of 3.25

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher

  • Demonstrated success with grade of A in more than one course for which SI is offered and leader may be assigned to lead

Knowledge Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Knowledge of disciplines as demonstrated in required course grades

  • Knowledge of word processing systems, presentation programs, and email systems

  • Skilled in interpersonal, organizational, and critical thinking skill

  • Skilled in conducting online and in-person meetings and sessions

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision

  • Ability to demonstrate a positive work ethic
