Bachoco OK Foods is seeking a General Accountant for our Fort Smith, AR location.

Summary:The General Accountant could have involvement in many areas within our Accounting Department, such as, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and General Accounting. This position ensures that all accounting information is consistently prepared and in compliance with Company Policy. This position has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Operate a computer with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point. Must be a fast learner in using our in-house ERP system and/or SAP for use in comparing actual expenditures with expected expenditures.
  • General Ledger: Book Journal Entries, Prepare Account Reconciliations, and Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly Reporting
  • Accounts Payable: Daily/Monthly AP Reconciliations, Routine AP Audits, Assist with 1099 reporting, General Sales/Use Tax, Monitor Vendor Payables and AP/Vendor issue resolution, Back up AP positions.
  • Payroll: Generate Payroll, File Payroll Taxes, Payroll Filings, and Garnishments
  • Accounts Receivable: Assist with Daily Deposits and Cash Application.
  • Reconciliation of Rents and Leases under Contract vs. Rents and Leases maintained in our SAP RX Module. Ensure the proper amount of rents and leases has been vouchered vs. what the RX module is calculating.
  • Communication with various departments regarding rents and leases expense and the timely generation of POs required.
  • Assist as needed with special projects such as MTech and SAP implementations and other adhoc projects.
  • Assist with Fixed Asset Process, including, but not limited to, rolling and reconciling Fixed Assets and Depreciation and Processing Capital Payments.

Education and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or related field and one to two years related experience preferred; or five to ten years related experience training in lieu of education/degree.

Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Computer Skills:To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
