WHAT YOU'LL DO
Meetings and Events Technology Services AV/IT Project Manager plays a key role in supporting in-person and hybrid meetings in all aspects of AV and IT technology needs.

In this role, you will partner closely with meeting owners to support their meeting goals through the deployment of technology. Provide advice and guidance on key features to best support the meeting's agenda, support the event execution to enable a flawless user and presenter experience. For hybrid and in-person meetings, AV and IT are a critical part of the participants' experience - you are partnering closely with the meeting owner to understand AV/IT needs on-site, collaborate with venues and source hardware and AV support from well-established AV partners and support the event execution as key IT partner on site.

You will team closely across our global METS (Meetings & Events Technology Services) AV/IT team and contribute to developing, maturing, and growing our team and event execution operations to ensure we remain a state-of-the-art delivery team ready to scale along with our business needs and company growth.

The Meetings & Events Technical Services (METS) team is the technical partner to the business to provide support to both internal and external BCG-hosted meetings and events. METS is an established team of global technical professionals providing technology services across all meeting formats, virtual, hybrid and in-person.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships with vendors and internal customers to ensure business needs are achieved.
  • Deliver event specific AV/IT technology, utilizing project management mythologies, including Risk and Budget management
  • Be an expert across all in-person BCG (Boston Consulting Group) meetings specific technology and related technologies (maintain partnerships across IT with technical experts and IT support teams)
  • Provide advice and guidance to meeting owners and internal customers on Meeting Technology
  • Creatively solve problems on behalf of clients seeking optimal long-term solutions (in collaboration with our technical product squad) and understand when and how to positively say no to customers
  • Contribute to developing, maturing, and growing our team and event execution operations
  • Hardware maintenance and logistic coordination
Technical and functional expertise

  • You possess a strong understanding and technical knowledge of the event management industry and apply this knowledge forward into event delivery & execution practices
  • You are technologically savvy and have had experience with meetings technology as well as general IT such as laptops, macs & iPad

  • You maintain an elevated level of intellectual agility and resourcefulness when faced with significant ambiguity and fluctuating priorities and constraints

YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • Build effective relationships across IT and multiple functions with meeting owners across the business
  • Strong customer orientation towards internal customers in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment
  • Proven record of accomplishment of delivering events from a technology perspective, specifically AV/IT, proven experience with applying project management skills and techniques to event delivery
  • Being able to manage and build partnerships with our 3rd Party Vendors
  • Work in an independent fashion with attention to detail, aligning and setting priorities, anticipating and resolving critical problems with strong technical skills in IT service and support
  • Problem solving utilizing strong analytical skills with the ability to take initiative and find innovative ways to get the outcome
  • Focus on utilizing data for decision making
  • Significant travel required; can consistently be at 50%.Depending on events, travel may start/end on weekend days.Majority of travel will occur in US, however intercontinental travel also expected.

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • A degree or equivalent experience in Business or IT with multiple years of experience in a global IT organization in a professional services organisation
  • Proven record of managing vendors
  • Strong Events project management experience
  • Deep understanding of the latest technical environment and market landscape of solutions targeted at in-person and hybrid meeting formats
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written with ability to actively listen
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to driving prioritization across multiple demands and engaging a team of experts to meet upcoming demands, while extending skills and knowledge to fast-paced meetings environment
  • Experience of Audio and Video expertise around meeting specific technologies
  • Solid overall IT background with proven experience in technology and methodologies
  • Formal IT qualifications would be an advantage
  • Understanding of supporting technologies for events such as networks, specifically wireless networks; VPN (Virtual Private Network), SSIDs and wireless profiles

  • Meeting and Events Function
  • Internal Meeting owners across functions (including Marketing, Learning & Development, Recruiting, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
  • Wider IT in particular Local IT, Security, and Infrastructure teams
  • 3rd Party vendors and external suppliers
