About the Role

CEI is looking for a seasoned professional in the Fueling and Convenience market who is excited about the opportunity to build on a great Client base. A proven track record in project management, developing strategic plans, cultivating client relationships, and achieving financial goals, ensures you are equipped to lead the charge in positioning CEI as a thought leader in the market.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a Business Development plan for your sector that includes targets, goals, strategies, and actions aligned with CEI's overall strategic plan. Monitor and adjust your business plans based on client feedback, market trends, and financial metrics.
  • Develop/Manage the budget for the investment cost of pursuing your sector strategy, ensuring that it is aligned with CEI's financial objectives and policies.
  • Pursue new business opportunities in the market sector while identifying opportunities to expand services offered to our Clients. Collaborate with service leaders to develop long-term solutions to Client service needs to position us as a leader for this sector.
  • Oversees and evaluates sector market research, analyzes market trends, and adjusts business development strategy to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Develop a network of contacts, partners, influencers, and stakeholders in the sector to pursue top targets, best practices, and growth accelerators. Identify and pursue opportunities for partnership with other firms or consultants to enhance your sector's capabilities and competitiveness.
  • Coordinate and support the production of proposals, contracts, and master service agreements for your client sector in collaboration with the project managers.
  • Meet performance indicators set for efficiencies and continuous improvement / KPIs (revenue growth, profitability, market share, client engagement standard).
  • Develop and implement specific client strategies, including relationship mapping, stakeholder analysis, competitive intelligence, and value proposition.
  • Provide timely updates to clients, stakeholders, and management, identifying needs and evaluating alternative recruiting solutions and opportunities to increase customer satisfaction.
  • Support the department and project managers in retaining clients by providing client feedback. Collaborate with department managers and lead and support client relationship management to ensure client satisfaction, retention, and referrals.
  • Provide visibility and leadership for CEI for your sector by attending industry events, business development events, interviews, and client meetings as required - act as a leading voice as a subject matter expert, visible in speaking events and writing publications.
  • Support CEI's ability to attract and retain specialized staff to develop sector-specific expertise and grow client relationships.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, plus five years related experience and/or training, and two years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in the development process in fueling/convenience and/or retail sectors, ability to self-motivate, ability to coordinate seamlessly across departments
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, delegation, project management, and budgeting skills
  • Valid Driver's License, acceptable driving record, and ability to occasionally travel overnight conferences, client meetings and industry events
  • Ability to work extended hours periodically, with the understanding that CEI strives to support work life balance and offers remote office options.
