We are seeking a Senior Business Development Director to spearhead our business development initiatives across multiple product lines in key departments at Walmart, Sam's Club, Dot Com, and International markets. As the visionary leader in this role, you'll be responsible for orchestrating and executing comprehensive business development strategies to propel our company toward unmatched growth.

Your mission? To expertly navigate the intricate landscape of retail giants Walmart and Sam's Club, cultivating enduring relationships and generating sustainable, long-term business development growth. With your keen insights and strategic prowess, you'll unlock new avenues for market penetration while optimizing existing channels to drive maximum revenue.

Essential Accountabilities:

  • Plan, direct, and coordinate company activities against assigned customer categories and assigned items to accomplish company revenue and profit goal:
    • Manage internal and external relationships to meet company business development goals.
    • Prepare strategic reviews for assigned categories to secure customer agreement.
    • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities in assigned categories.
    • Analyze data for pricing strategies and business insights.
    • Collaborate on inventory management and address supply gaps.
    • Maintain shipment forecasts for uninterrupted customer service.
    • Oversee artwork/packaging projects for assigned items.
    • Monitor customer data reports and share insights
  • Manage Internal and External Relationships:
    • Act as the main point of contact for external partners, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
    • Negotiate contracts and agreements with external partners for mutually beneficial results.
  • Strategic Initiatives:
    • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive growth and achieve objectives.
    • Collaborate with customer on new business bid opportunities.
    • Creation and execution of long-term agreements.
    • Collaborate with senior management to identify and prioritize opportunities.
    • Conduct market research to inform decision-making and anticipate shifts.
    • Lead cross-functional teams to execute strategic projects.
    • Monitor and adjust strategic plans, as necessary.
    • Communicate objectives and progress to stakeholders.
  • Conduct market visits. Gather and communicate competitive intelligence on assigned items, and share findings with business development and marketing departments, and with the customer.
  • International Markets:
    • Primary point of contact for LTAM countries for assigned categories.
    • Maintain and grow business in Mexico, Central America, and Chile.
    • Work with Regulatory Affairs to ensure Rockline is following laws and regulations of a particular country.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years of business development or category management experience.
  • Experience calling on Walmart, Sam's Club required
  • While an individual contributor role currently some previous people management preferred.
  • Proficiency with Walmart Retail Link/Luminate and enterprise systems (such as JDE) preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals, promoting teamwork.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and business acumen, with a focus on achieving win-win outcomes.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from customers and Rockline management and associates concerning business development procedures.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
  • Requires the ability to organize and coordinate business development and marketing operations and provide leadership to accomplish company objectives.
  • Proficient with Word, Excel, PowerPoint as well as available data sources to identify business needs, perform in-depth analysis, prepare, and present findings to Management and the Customer with recommended action steps.
  • Administrative organization. Ability to organize and multitask throughout the day. Must be able to prioritize work and to meet deadlines
