Summary of Job Duties:Will serve as the Coordinator of Teacher Licensure for the School of Education while collaborating with stakeholders including school districts, educational cooperatives, and the Arkansas Department of Education. Will teach a wide range of undergraduate education courses for students seeking licensure in Elementary K-6, Middle Childhood 4-8, and/or Secondary Education 7-12; teach graduate courses in Master of Education; supervise and place students in a variety of field experience placements; serve in various leadership roles within the department; apply technology to curriculum and instruction in the teaching and learning process; maintain positive collaboration with local public schools; serve as academic advisor to elementary and/or middle childhood education majors; participate in committee activities; maintain involvement in scholarly endeavors and activities; be proficient with technology and software applications currently utilized in the public school system; be required to travel to and from area schools; and perform other duties as required or assigned. This is a 10-month position and the position reports to Executive Director of the School of EducationQualifications:

Required Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a Doctorate in Education or in a core area related to the assignment and preferred expertise in the Science of Reading (ABD will be considered). Must have a valid teaching license. A successful candidate must have a working knowledge of technology used in public schools; a knowledge of assessment; and a minimum of three years of successful teaching experience in K-8 schools. Experience teaching in higher education in an education department is preferred. The successful candidate must be willing to pursue training as a reviewer for an accreditation organization and have a strong research agenda, with preference for significant publications. The position requires a commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, advising, competency-based learning, and close partnerships with local school districts. Also required are well-developed teamwork and communication skills, expertise in integrating technology across the curriculum, and experience in the development of instructional materials

Special Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Occasional travel and extended hours required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into the computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen. Employees regularly talk and listen. Employees occasionally lift items up to 10 pounds.

Salary Information:

$56,000 to $62,200.00 /year, commensurate with education and experience
