https://advancement.uark.eduSummary of Job Duties:The graphic design intern supports the assistant director of creative design by actively partnering with the Marketing and Communications team on project ideation, creation coordination and production of print and digital assets. This creative collaboration advances the mission of the University of Arkansas through engagement and raising private gift support. Team members are committed to a people-centric approach and determined to advance the people, work, and impact of the greater whole at the University of Arkansas.

The intern creates marketing collateral and visual pieces for projects such as impact stories, invitations, cards, flyers, brochures, banners, and web and social media graphics.
This position offers an intern significant opportunities to broaden the scope of their academic focus by working directly with a seasoned designer with a background in both freelance and institutional work.
Also, the intern builds networking contacts and explores career paths in marketing and communications while developing immediate job skills.

Duties will include:
*Design innovative print and digital pieces
*Research best design practices, integration, and trends
*Participate in collaborative tactical and strategic project development

This position is located in the Shiloh Building with the Advancement team and reports to the assistant director of creative design. A flexible remote option will be available at the discretion of the supervisor.

The intern works both independently and collaboratively on tasks with significant impact to Advancement and the University of Arkansas. The intern is expected to demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, tact, and strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Junior level standing pursuing a degree in graphic design, art, marketing, or a related field

  • One year of experience working with Adobe Creative Cloud: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Macintosh environments

  • Basic experience with Adobe Creative Cloud: Premier Pro, Animate, Premiere or After Effects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge in basic graphic design theory and practice

  • Skill in communication, visualization, and project management

  • Ability to collaborate with others

  • Ability to receive instructions and guidance

Graduate students are subject to background checks.


Salary Information:

$15 per hour
