Your Opportunity as the Assistant Manager, Category Leadership - Walmart

Key contributor to Walmart Coffee Category Advisory Team. Expert in Category Insights, retail strategy, and bringing business-building concepts to life in store and online. Go-to expert on Omni-merchandising focused on driving category growth through bringing customer insights from disparate sources through to impactful category strategy. Builds trusting relationships with Walmart, working closely with corporate counterparts and the rest of the advisor team to activate key components of category strategy.

Location: Bentonville, AR

In this role you will:

  • Assists in the development and implementation of Customer specific Category Leadership Plans (CLP) and 4P tactical solutions

  • Identifies key business trends and synthesizes for customer application

  • Identifies opportunities and issues and supports the Category Advisory team to implement solutions at retail

  • Provides broad insights to support customer initiatives

  • Understands the competitive marketplace in which JMS and customers operate

  • Communicates insights and learnings to the customer merchandising team

  • Actively participates in retailer calls

  • Collaborates and influences across the various SBAs

What we are looking for:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • 5+ years of Category Management/Analytical experience in Consumer Packaged Goods industry or related field (i.e. broker or retailer)

  • Walmart Category Management experience

  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving, and storytelling experience - ability to develop and translate insights into action

  • Proficiency in syndicated data such as Nielsen, IRI (Circana)

  • Experience building relationships with customers/retailers and establishing trust

  • Strategic mindset to help build and execute effective plans

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role (not required):

  • Luminate data experience

  • Planogram software experience (JDA Prospace)
