We are looking for a motivatedMicrosoft Windows System Engineerto join our Engineering team. In this exciting role, you will workcollaboratively with application engineers,integration engineers,system administrators/engineers,database administrators,network engineers,security engineers along withproject and business management to implement, maintain and enhance existing Windows Server infrastructure. The Technology Reliability Engineering and Operations (TREO) organization is a key information technology group supporting our valued internal and external customers. TREO aligns up through the Chief Technology Officer and provides IT services such as hosting, security operations, application, voice, business intelligence infrastructure, collaboration services, and end user support. We focus on both operating and innovating our services to ensure continuous efficiency and modernization. Our team is comprised of both full-time employees and contingent workers spread across 15+ states and three countries. This Windows Systems Engineer will:

  • Support operational stability through vulnerability remediation and monthly patching,administration for Windows server operating systems on servers hosting internal/external enterprise applications and sites.
  • Create and maintain information security throughout the Windows infrastructure via vulnerability remediation and application of patches and updates using tools including VMware, TrueSight Automation Console, Powershell, Active directory, Ansible Automation Platform.
  • Ensure technical documentation exists for vulnerability remediation for all systems and is kept up to date.
  • Document system configurations to include passwords, access controls, version number, and revision numbers, patch levels, and inventory to include hostnames, TCP/IP addresses, number of processors, and number of cores, memory, and license keys.
  • Analyze and resolve problems associated with servers running on HP server hardware and servers running on the VMware ESX and ESXi platforms.
  • On-call rotation and after-hours work is required to support responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge and experience with Windows server operating systems, Active Directory, and Group Policy
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows Server 2016, 2109, and 2022 operating systems with knowledge of systems maintenance experience in a MS Windows datacenter environment.
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networks/topology, storage, and LAN/WAN systems and applications as well as their dependencies.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology infrastructure components (firewall, database, operating system, network)
  • Effectively communicate problems and solutions both verbally and in writing to internal customers and management.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
  • Requires a Bachelor's in computer science, information systems or other related field and 2+ years experience with VMware virtualization technologies, system management tools, logical file systems, systems maintenance in a MS Windows datacenter environment and client/server environments or other directly related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of system management tools, logical file systems, and client/server environments.
  • Strong IT server platform configuration management and diagnostic skills.

Preferred

  • Provision/configure required security and configuration settings onto servers using TrueSight Automation and Active Directory.
  • Use native, add on tools, and third-party tools to troubleshoot malfunctions, optimizations. Tools include Resource Kits, Development Kits, and commercial tools.
  • Experience with VMWare ESX and ESXi platforms helpful.

A combination of education and experience may meet qualifications.

Location: This position has a hybrid work from home schedule with a minimum of three days per week in the office at the Zions Technology Center in Midvale, UT.
