UNM Ticketing Services and Popejoy Hall are looking for a self-motivated and organized individual to join our team as Operations Specialist. As Operations Specialist, you will work with both UNM Ticketing and Popejoy's Front of House teams, in a dual role to ensure the quality of events, from the event build to the date of performances. This position will be tasked with building events for all 5 theatres on campus.

This position will work in the backend of our Ticketing software to build events, promotional codes and system generated reports. Additionally, the Operations Specialist will manage the Box Office and act as senior staff for Front of House on a rotating basis.

UNM Ticketing Services supports all 5 theatres on UNM's Main Campus, Popejoy Hall being the largest at 1,985 seats. Our theatres host events such as touring Broadway shows, classical symphonies, local theatre productions and UNM student-produced performances. We are looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing, people-person to join our energetic team.

As Operations Specialist, you will:

  • Build all events for Music, Theatre and Dance, and Popejoy Mainstage rentals- Approx. 130 events yearly.
  • Work to implement a seamless system with UNM Departments and their rental shows for submitting images, show information, and to communicate UNM Ticketing Services comp and promotional polices.
  • Build all promo requests. To include discounted tickets, comp tickets and protected tickets.
  • Assist Director of Ticketing with managing content on both operating websites.
  • Work as Senior Front of House Management for 20% of Mainstage/New Mexico Philharmonic shows in Popejoy. This assignment acts as onsite lead during an emergency or any unforeseen circumstances that may arise. While acting in this capacity, this position will oversee the activities of up to 3 House Managers, 4 Student employees, and 40 volunteers.
  • Work as Events Box Office Manager for 20% of Popejoy Mainstage/New Mexico Philharmonic/Large rentals. This assignment requires providing guidance to and oversight of 2 to 3 students, cash handling, and nightly Point of Sale closeouts.
  • Assist Patron Services Coordinator with all Schooltime/daytime youth performances. Help load all school groups, with the new assigned seating model. This position will also work with the Patron Services Coordinator to grow the program.
  • Handle reporting for Broadway Across America, New Mexico Philharmonic and other national touring rentals to aid in Business Office settlements. This position will also learn eQuery, our internal reporting system to assist Box Office Manager and Director of Ticketing with monthly and yearly show settlements.
  • Work with the Box Office team and Marketing team to streamline and regulate internal report requests. Additionally, this position will work to implement a system to guarantee continuity within reporting.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 7 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Paciolan frontend Ticketing Sales Software, eQuery reporting and Paciolan SBClient application.
  • Leadership and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and self-motivated.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize needs of the department, show promoters and staff.
  • Capable of creating and executing fully developed projects.
  • Strong customer service skills and problem-solving skills. Able to think outside the box and make quick, on the spot, decisions.
  • Experience in Customer Services, ticketing or performing arts experience.
